  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.

Donation Refund Policy

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

Automated Recurring Donation Cancellation

Ongoing support is important to enabling projects to continue their work, so we encourage donors to continue to contribute to projects over time. But if you must cancel your recurring donation, please notify us.

About Us

Purpose & History

Informed is a social enterprise specializing in nonprofit compliance reporting and fiscal sponsorship to support community projects and existing 501(c)(3) organizations, from Community Shares of Mid Ohio. For more than 30 years, Community Shares of Mid Ohio has provided local nonprofits organizations access to workplace giving campaigns at employers like The State of Ohio, The Ohio State University, Franklin County, and many more. In order to provide this access, Community Shares ensures that each of its members meets State of Ohio and City of Columbus regulations for nonprofit organizations. Community Shares has leveraged its expertise and knowledge in nonprofit compliance to launch its first social enterprise program, the Compliance Reporting Service. 

Nonprofits can outsource their compliance reporting to In(form)ed. Our Compliance Reporting Service allows nonprofits to stay registered and in compliance with the State of Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the State of Ohio Secretary of State’s Office, and the City of Columbus Charitable Solicitations Board. This service returns valuable hours to nonprofit staff so they can focus on their services and meet community needs.

 

In 2016, In(form)ed added fiscal sponsorship to its services. Community projects and nonprofit startups working for community betterment can receive sponsorship to apply for grants, accept donations and contributions from donors and businesses. Fiscal sponsorship gives projects and startups the opportunity to create community impact through Community Shares of Mid Ohio's nonprofit status. This concept is ideal for projects looking to test their model, execute a limited-time project, or begin serving the community while awaiting their own nonprofit status from the IRS.
